Help / Calendar invites
My booking invite is not in my Google Calendar
Your booking is confirmed. Google sometimes holds back invites from senders it hasn't seen you deal with before, so the event may not appear in your calendar until you add it.
Why it happens
When you book through Burro Book, you get an email with a calendar invite attached. Google Calendar tries to block junk invites, so if the sender is new to you, it may not put the event on your calendar by itself. The email still arrives, and the booking is still yours.
How to add it
- Open the booking email in Gmail. Check Spam if you can't see it.
- Near the top of the email, click Add to calendar. If Google asks whether you know the sender, choose the option that says you do (the wording is something like I know the sender).
- The event now shows in Google Calendar, and later invites from us should add themselves.
You can also change the rule for every sender. In Google Calendar, open Settings, then Event settings, and find Add invitations to my calendar. From everyone adds every invite. Only if the sender is known keeps the protection on, but still adds invites from people you've dealt with. Google changes labels from time to time, so look for the setting with that name.
Not using Google?
Apple Calendar, Outlook and most other calendars add the event without fuss. If yours doesn't, open the .ics file attached to the booking email. It adds the event to almost any calendar app.
